What is a look?
A look can be a SIMPLE change of clothes and/or hairstyle.  Change of location DOES NOT count as a different look.  Often, I will use various backgrounds. (the background is NOT important)

How long will the session take?
All of this depends on you.  If you’re prepared and have done your homework it’s simple.  Once we get started, you can plan for about a half hour per look, an hour and a half per shoot.  I will not shoot JUST to get the session done.  Like you want the best possible headshot, I want the same.  I don’t want mediocre photos out there with my name attached.

What should I do to prepare myself?
Be specific.  Know exactly what your agent/manager wants.  Know how they want to market you.  Are you going to be going out as 18 to play younger?  Elderly?  Motherly type?  Businessman type?  If you’re not a “Brad Pitt Type”, don’t lie to yourself and tell yourself that you are.  Basically, I’m saying BE REALISTIC.  Don’t tell yourself that you can play 16 if you’ve got a full-grown beard and are balding.  It’s best if you know ahead of time exactly what you want from the session.  Know whether you want the shot to be tight, full body, 3/4, vertical, horizontal, character or hip trendy.  IF YOU DON’T KNOW it's okay, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help you.  Our session should be fun, so just bring yourself (and be RESTED), relax, BE YOU and let me do the rest.

What is the shooting fee and what exactly does it include?
RATES VARY.  Starting at $150 for the most basic of all shoots (usually, just one, maybe two look)…  On average, in most cases the shoot will cost between $250 - $350.

The shoot will include a CD (or two) with all of your HIGH RESOLUTION images on them.  Once you have your CD, obtaining prints is VERY EASY.  I don’t do prints and hate retouching.  I am a photographer and focus as such.

When shooting, how many rolls of film will you use?
DIGITAL IS THE STANDARD.  Film is an option, but digital is more practical.  Shooting digital will save US money, time, energy etc.  If you’ve got your heart set on shooting film please call me and we can discuss it.

The negative is in whose possession?
IF we shoot film, the negatives will be YOURS.  But, if we shoot digital – there are no negatives.  In this case, you’ll have a CD with ALL of your images and I’ll also have a back up copy just in case.  You are free to choose the images and print as you wish without my permission.  As long as you (and I) use the photographs for what they were intended for.

Will you arrange for a hair stylist and make-up artist?  If so, how much will it cost?
Yes, if you request a makeup artist, the fee for this will range anywhere from $75-$100.  It is recommended that you keep both hair and make-up as simple as possible.  Do not come to the shoot with your hair covered in gel or your face covered in make up if you don’t need it.  If you have any questions about this, please contact me.

Exactly how many changes will you allow?
As many changes are you want, as long as we agree ahead of time.  If you keep your changes simple and quick, I am not a stickler.  I am pretty flexible with everything.

Hair/make-up with a change of clothing?
Yes.  You can have your hair and make-up adjusted as long as we make it quick and simple.

What is the time length of the session?
You should allot for about 30 minutes per look.  Generally speaking, each photo shoot will last anywhere from an hour to two hours.

How long do I have to wait to see the finished product?
In many cases I’ll allow you to see the finished product the same day.  But, usually the next day I can have the CD burned and in the mail or ready for you to pick up.

Do you offer a guarantee?  If a re-shoot is needed do you charge extra?
IT DEPENDS!  If you have an agent, I like to speak to your agent ahead of time.  The reason I do this is to know EXACTLY what your agent wants.  If your agent is not happy with the photos, I will re-shoot FOR FREE!  I am confident in my abilities and skill as a photographer that I don’t think that will be an issue.  If this does happen, rescheduling is not a problem.  There is no charge for a re-shoot for technical reasons.  In this case, I will be happy to re shoot you.  Re-shoots requested for any other reason will cost 75% of the original shoot (excluding Hair & Makeup costs). All re-shoot requests must be made within 1 weeks of original shoot date.

Do you provide for retouching?
Yes and No.  I am not a professional retoucher.  I can do simple retouching, but anything drastic should be taken to a professional.  If retouching is requested, the cost is $25 per photo.  I do strongly recommend to keep retouching to a minimum.  You really need to look like you in your photo.

How do I go about getting my prints?
After our shoot, this process is VERY EASY.  Your CD’s will be of the highest quality and print ready.  There are numerous places you can go to get your photos printed or retouched.  It’s just like choosing a photographer, you have to do your research and find the best fit.  I do have my favorites - just ask.  The cost to get your first one hundred 8x10 headshots should cost just around $100.

Do you have to book very far in advance?  Do you require a deposit or cancellation fee?
Generally, I like to book at least a week in advance.  But, if I’m open, last minute appointments are welcome.

Will you offer a discount if I happen to return for updated photos?
Absolutely!

Do you have any references?
Yes.  I do have male and female references available upon request.
