FAQ’s

How Much Does a Session Cost? My average session will run you $250 – $300.  It all depends on the number of looks you (or your agent) want.  The more involved the shoot, the more it will cost.  A photoshoot can cost as much as $600 or more.  If you have any questions, please contact me at Info@rackedfocus.com.

What Do I Get For My Session? You will get a CD will ALL of the raw images on them, an online proof sheet that is good for 30-days (most agents & managers usually prefer to look at images on the online proof sheet).  My advice/help on selecting wardrobe and preparations for the shoot.  Right to co-own all the photos from the photoshoot.  All shoots are photographed using natural lighting…

How Long Will a Session Take? Usually a session will last no more than 1 hour.

Where Are You Located? I am located in West Los Angeles, but often shoot out of West Hollywood or Beverly Hills.

What Should I Do to Prepare for My Photoshoot? Do not underestimate how important preparation is for a simple headshot shoot.  You must focus on many issues including but not limited to:  wardrobe, rest, what looks you are hoping to get, what age range you’ll play & more.  Read this entire document to prepare for your shoot.

What Approach Should I Take For My Shoot? Everyone is different.  Please discuss with me any questions you might have.  Here are some notes.

  • BE REALISTIC! If you are 38, don’t go into the shoot thinking you’re going to play a high school junior.  I often get great results, but I can’t always create miracles.  If you have a receding hairline, I can shoot at certain angles so it doesn’t show it so much, but I can’t give you a full head of hair if you’re bald!

  • For younger clients… If you are 14, please PLAY YOUR AGE!  Very important.  If you think you are doing yourself a service by looking 19 if you’re actually 14, you are wrong!  Often times, casting directors are looking for “18 to play 14″ or “18 to play younger.”  Why?  Well, it’s cheaper for the producers to hire an adult to play younger IF they can get away with it.  There are fewer rules they have to follow and they don’t have to have a teacher on the set.  If you are 14, you stand a better chance playing a bit younger than 14 and competing with kids your own age as opposed to older “adults.”

  • I am a PURIST!  What does that mean?  Well, It means I like to get it as perfect as I can IN CAMERA without thinking about having to Photoshop it later.  Sure we can always make adjustments later, but I don’t go into the shoot thinking, “we’ll fix it later” and neither should you.

  • If you are unsure about any of these issues, DO NOT WORRY!  Call or email me and I would be happy to help.

How Much Experience Do You Have? I’ve been shooting professionally since 2004 and over all since I was in middle school.  I do what I love for a living and am truly blessed.  I have a degree in Photography and in Cinema & Television Arts.  Since 2004,  I’ve photographed several thousand clients of all ages.  In short – I have A LOT of experience.

What Am I Paying For? A CD of all the images.  An online proof sheet to share your photos with your agent.  My guarantee that your representation will love my work.  My experience & knowledge of the business and what casting directors, agents & managers want.

Natural Light or Studio Lighting? Natural Light!

Film or Digital? Digital

How Many Pictures Do I Get with a Photoshoot?  Average is anywhere between 100 – 250 picutes with a full shoot.

How Many Changes of Clothes Do I Get with a Photoshoot? If you come prepared with good options for wardrobe, then usually 3-5 changes of clothes.

Do You Do Hair & Make-Up? I personally don’t do hair and make up?  I suggest you find a hair & make-up artist if you feel you need one.  Please discuss with me before doing anything.  Often times, younger clients don’t need hair/make-up.  I have a few different make-up artists that I work with.  So, if you don’t know anyone, I can make some calls for you.  The cost for the hair & make-up usually ranges from 75$-$200 per session on top of the cost of the photoshoot.

What Types of Payment Do You Receive? Cash.   Check.  Or Credit Card via my website. CLICK HERE If you wish to pay with a credit card prior to the shoot or are required to place a deposit .
